RiRi talking about her beatdown...

We all know domestic abuse is wrong and we all know it can happen to anyone. Even celebs can get the backhand. Rihanna finally starts to speak about her ordeal with Chris Brown...

What did the five fingers say to the face?!

SLAP! And that's exactly what happened to one Miss Leona Lewis (well some say she was slapped and some say she was punched) at her book signing last week. My younger sister told me about it and I laughed (at first. Sorry Leona) although she wasn't sure if it indeed was Leona Lewis. I told her I'd do a search and then blog about it if, indeed, it was true. And apparently it is according to People.com.

People are crazy. Fans are crazy. Being a celebrity is tough business. Glad I have my fans under control. ;)

This song couldn't be anymore (in)appropriate. Well, the title anyway...

City High-i-i

Remember them?

Caramel was the jam back what? 8 years ago?! According to Wikipedia there are rumors circulating that a end of 2009 reunion is to take place. Hmmm... It's October already so probably not. But wouldn't mind seeing 'em back on the music scene again. Nothing commercial, however. ;)

Not so "Fresh Out The Oven"...

Jennifer Lopez AKA J.Lo AKA Jenny From The Block AKA Mrs. Marc Anthony NowKnownAs... Lola (pronounced low-la). So who is Lola exactly? Well, clicking on the link eventually gets you to Jennifer Lopez asking the same question. The obvious guess would be that Lola is her alter ego. So what's the deal with alter egos and celebs these days?! Beats me but apparently it seems like the new thing to do. Almost trendy perhaps and who would J.Lo be if she didn't continue to follow the trends? Post 2 failed marriages, 1 failed engagement, (does anybody remember when she dated P.Diddy?! LoL!) then finally... a marriage that seems to be well towards a bronze which includes a double dose of diaper changes. No wonder she felt the need to create Lola. Anyway, she's back and singing, not really. She's back and still sounding as terrible as when she put out her very first song 'If You Had My Love'. Does she have a singing coach? No? Well, can she get one? She hires someone for everything else she needs done. Or at least some autotune maybe? Just a little?! J.Lo, oh excuse me, Lola does look better than ever but that's not so much a good thing when your semi-fans continue to just be satisfied by simply looking at you and totally disregard the fact that you sing. Or continue to try to anyway. Can you go back to acting? Maybe? And stay there? Then perhaps you wouldn't have felt the need to create a Lola

I. Can't. LeaveYouAloooooone. You got me feenin'

Lookin' thru some pics on my friends FB page I come across some footage that he had taken of some of his CDs. Feelin' obviously nostalgic, one of the pics contained the CDs of Jodeci and K-Ci & JoJo. Oh boy does that bring back all kinds of memories! Although I shall spare you the filthy details of my mid to late 90's escapades I shall, however, follow up this thought with a few of my faves from this R&B super group... Enjoy.

and I know you remember this...

Even though the original belongs to Bobby Womack for the 90's kid this song was K-Ci's ;)
and P.S. When I was in high school I swore up and down that I was gonna marry Mr. Dalvin. Just sayin'. LoL!

I know that's how you feel when you find the love of your life or rather, another new love ;) But this is how Q-Tip feels about Hip Hop and well, sometimes that's how I feel about Hip Hop. The shout-outs are well deserved and this video only makes this song even more wonderful to listen to and Ms Norah Jones is the perfect compliment =)

The bitch is bad... a bit crazy, but bad...

So not every performance of Lady Gaga's is noteworthy and can stray more towards coocoo (like her performance at the VMA's) but she obviously likes performing her hit single 'Paparazzi' and I enjoyed this particular showcase on Saturday Night Live.

Enjoy as I've enjoyed...

They tried to make me go to rehab and I said...

I'm gonna start a record label instead.

(In my most swanky English accent) "Yeah, so I woke up one morning and I thought 'To hell with this bloody alcohol and crack-cocaine! My goddaughter can sing almost as good as me so why don't I help her?!' So I hit the little bugger up and told her to meet me in a dash and then I sought to see what money I had left from selling the 10 million albums that I did of Back To Black. And despite the rubbish, by george I had the money!"

Ahaha! Ok, I wish y'all can hear me reading that aloud! My accent is to die! Anyway, not really here to poke fun at the Winehouser as I, indeed, am I fan. Only here to let you know about her new record label, Lioness Records and the first artist to sign; her goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield. She's only 13 but obviously carries an old voice straight outta the 60's and well... reminiscent of Amy herself. Her debut album is scheduled for release on Oct. 12th and will only showcase covers from popular songs from the 60's & 70's, thus it may cause her fanbase to stem from those in their 50's rather than in their teens. Kids these days are too busy Jerkin' and fiddling with their iPhones to pay attention to someone like Dionne Bromfield. Or perhaps they will catch on but not know shit from spit that the songs she's singing are classics.

So those older and wiser and that know what real music sounds like, take a listen to Dionne Bromfield. And only listen. No looking. She's not legal yet ;)

This stays playing in my car as well. Or on my iPod or when I'm gettin' ready, etc. I can relate. This song is in my head... like really in my head. If this song dropped in 2006 I think I woulda broke something playing this song over and over and over... and over. Touched.

His world...

So upon hearing the unexpected of 'Man On The Moon: The End Of Day' in comparison to the very liked mixtape 'A Kid Named Cudi', I told y'all to keep listening to it and that you'd grow to love it. Well?

I can still listen to the whole thing, respectively. I don't skip tracks (well, sometimes I skip Day 'N' Nite, The Sky Might Fall & Make Her Say. Only because they've been well in rotation before the album dropped) and as any album that I listen to frequently I discover my faves. (Not to mention that I'm extremely loving that Common appears courteous thru spoken word.) This is what repeats when I'm rollin' thru Des Moines...

The Blueprint 3

S.Carter - might I give you a word of advice... The only time you should (attempt. again.) to retire is when you (literally) look like you should be retiring. Ok pumpkin? You know you're heat and your fans will miss you way too much.

The Blueprint 3 is, indeed, one of HOV's greater albums. Not like, untouched Reasonable Doubt, but well along side the likes of some of his other previous albums, such as: In My Lifetime, Vol. 1, The Black Album and American Gangster. I will enjoy The Blueprint 3, however. I will bump it in my bumped up ride, on a crisp Seattle morning, rhyming along with Jay as if no one can see me.

Thank you, again, for blessing us with your admirable lyricism and opulent beats. Mr. Carter.

Kid Cudi | Man On The Moon - The End Of Day

Released today. Get yours --> Cudi via iTunes

Some folk are feeling the need to get used to this album... Not I. Ok, so it's his first official album release and the only thing we have to compare it to is his mixtape 'A Kid Named Cudi'. Perhaps folk was expecting the same thing or rather yet, the same songs?! I mean, I do think some songs shoulda been included. Such as: Embrace The Martian, Daps And Pounds and Dat New New - but I also expected some new - new new - shit. Perhaps not so "boo hoo"... but then that wouldn't make him the alien that he is now would it? Keep playin' it, you'll grow to love it. I promise ;)

Control Alt Delete --> Task: Ft Drake - Digital Girl Remix | Status: running --> End Task

Can someone please explain the annoying and current 'Drake' hype?! I don't get it... I like this song though - The original! And well, I like the remix too, sans Drake on it. Could definitely lack the Drake-affect - it's not needed! Rather of had Kanye doing 2 verses than adding a bout of wackness up front. I wish I didn't see this video this morning on MTV2, now all I'm picturing in my head is Drake via DeGrassi in his wheelchair... Come on Jamie, next time step outside the box. Nonetheless, great song though, with my minor recommendation to skip to 1 minute into the video... Enjoy =)

Musical nostalgia

My cousin recently emailed me about Slaughterhouse, which led to talking about Royce Da 5'9", which led me to remembering some Royce joints from '01, which led me to going back just a tad bit further and remembering music I used to listen to while in high school. Just a little trip down musical memory lane... Here's some of the joints I used to bump in my 'MPS on the HHP G-Ride' Sentra!

It's ok to be tardy for THIS party...

Do you watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta? Ok, so you know they're into their 2nd season now and I'm sure, quite familiar with all the housewives. One housewife in particular, Kim Zolciak.

As you know she tried to jump-start a music career in season 1, but if you remember the episode where Dallas Austin calls her and lets her know what's really real (without a sprinkling of sugar) you also remember that you may have seemingly thought that her dream would be put on the back burner. Let's think again shall we?! In season 2 they took out Deshawn Snow and introduced Kandi Burruss (formerly of the 90's music group, Xscape). In a recent episode aired on 8/27 it looked like Miss Kandi & Miss Kim were becoming best buds and who better for Kim to befriend on the show? Someone who actually likes her and who has the right connections. Thus a song was (disgustingly) born. The auto-tune was extremely necessary as watching the show, we've all heard Kim singing sans the auto-tune and she has a terrible voice. However, this single shows that anyone else out there that longs for a music career can very well have one. As long as you network with the right people and of course, can't forget the auto-tune. Oh where's our music going these days?! Doesn't anyone know how to naturally sing anymore?! Auto-tune is like plastic surgery for songs and this song just paid a good 50 grand to get it's breasts augmented...

Slaughterhouse

So my older sister had this promo music thing where she had 25 free downloads. It was about to expire so she asked me if I'd like to use it. Um, of course! However, when I went on the site they had music that was like, not this year... ahaha! I mean they had recent shit, a bunch of old shit but no (good?) new shit! But I went ahead and browsed to see what I could possibly download. I came across Slaughterhouse. Album released 8/11/09 - I thought, who are these people? Thinking they were a new rock/hip hop kinda group. I didn't even sample the music, I just went ahead and downloaded. Then I did a little research and am listening to it as I write... Slaughterhouse consists of Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz & Royce Da 5'9". Not bad and a little grimey. Grimey, in this case, is a good thing. The first 4 tracks obviously reflect each other; go hard like underground rap battles on 8 mile. Then I get to 'The One' and it follows up it's title as I think this track is indeed "the one" of the album. I can always do without skits on an album because I think they serve as useless 'intro/track fillers' (there are 3 skits on this album, go ahead and skip thru 'em). Onslaught 2 made me wanna get up and put my hands in the air. Fatman Scoop makes me do that. I enjoyed Salute. Reminded me of something like Nappy Roots in Long Beach... Cut You Loose took me there like The One - always partial to hip hop tracks when the artist(s) are talking about their 'relationship', love & hate, w/Hip Hop...

Overall the album was worth the (blind) free download. Although I would suggest to just go thru iTunes and purchase the songs you prefer from this album and maybe not the whole thing --> Slaughterhouse on iTunes

Drake ft Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Eminem - Forever

I like the song. I really do. BUT there's just something about Drake that I just... can't... quite... put my finger on that makes me not really like him. Is it just me? I think it may just be me because I feel like everyone else and they mama likes Drake. Maybe it's his hair. Yeah, I think it's his hair. The edges and the texture, looks like he can remove it like a helmet. Maybe it's his skin color as I've never been too partial to lighter shades of brown. (Sorry.) Oh wait! I know! It's his eyebrows, can't trust those eyebrows... Yeah... that must be it. LOL! Alright, just listen to the song =)

My favorite song off of Maxwell's latest... Oh this video makes me wanna do bad things. Maxwell and his "bad habit", Kerry Washington, are extremely chemical. So I open my yahoo mail the other day and I had an email from YouTube informing me that a certain Dutty Devioso would like to be my friend. Ok... so I log-in to YouTube and see who this is. I could not contain my laughter! I mean, for real? Is he for real?! Ahahaha! More power to him for pursuing his "dream" but come on, dude is terrible! I'd sooner be kidnapped, stuck in a room w/Gucci Mane & Flavor Flave... be forced to give 'em both becky while wearing cowboy boots and a doo rag... and listen to nothing but Nick Cannon songs BEFORE I sit and listen to this shit ever again! Sean Paul - Imperial Blaze

Ok, so my fave Sean-a Paul album was Dutty Rock. Released in the midst of my bestie's and my younger sister's 21st year = constant clubbin' nights = Seattle's semi-popular reggae dance sub-era = Sean Paul in rotation. Not to mention that Sean Paul is quite a looker... more so than his reggae predecessors anyway. I then expected 'Trinity' to bring the same feeling I got from Dutty Rock. Sorta did but no go. It's been some time since Mr. Paul has released anything and am sorta glad he's back... Will 'Imperial Blaze' give me that Dutty Rock haze? Probably not. But I'ma enjoy it, most likely download it, listen to it a few times before I send it to my burnt CDs graveyard. A Dutty-a.

New Boyz ft Ray J - Tie Me Down

So the New Boyz got a new single out. Can we say "Hallelujer"?! Not that I'm hatin' on 'You're A Jerk', especially since reading more about it... underground dance movement amongst todays LA teens - Jerk to your hearts content young folk. To the latter it's more of a tiresome backwards Running Man induced Russian Kick without the lean. Yes, I took it there. Every teen era has it's moment and for my sub-gen it was just that. Anyways, back to the subject. So Ray-J never fails to make me want to vomit. I don't know what it is about that once a year/commercial/ego-driven/nasty/LL Cool J lickin' his lips wanna-be mu'fucka but he just erks me. So he's on the New Boyz latest single. Big whoop. Commercialism at it's finest (not literally). This song has mainstream riding it's coattails. Possibly even w/o Ray J on it but more so with him... Via MySpace, New Boyz mentioned expansion and doing more than just Jerk music & dance. Boyz, Boyz, Boyz... word of advice from a heavy music listener: Stick to the Jerkin'. Trust. Even your older fanbase - such as myself - will grow to love it and your fans will love you a little more for it.

or Sceney Sceneable as Amanda Blank? Of course I downloaded Amanda Blank's CD on the day it was released and immediately re-listened to the entire thing. Her CD is off the hook, in my opinion... So as I was going thru the tracks I come across 'Make-Up' (again) and was immediately reminded of a Stevie Ryan AKA The Real Paris skit as Sceney Sceneable and it made me giggle. "I changed my mind/I don't love you no more..."

Dear Keyshia,

Wassup girl?! Just wanted to drop you a line real quick. Wondering where you went? Where you at? I'm worried about you... You don't sound the same and you're not singing the same. Are you still writing your own shit? I heard your record label had you create your latest album (which SUCKS btw) in order to attract different fans. But did you ever hold up and think that you may lose your old ones? Like me? Girl... Your first album was the hit! Your second album too. This third album of yours - Man! Who you with? Are you really all sunshines and happy in love like that? I thought after Jeezy broke your heart that you'd be coming with some ill shit! And I guess some of that reflects off of your 'Just Like Me' album but I was checking for some tunes like if your first album and second album had a baby type shit! Bring it back girl! Go back home to Oakland, let loose, have fun... and find you the grimiest nicca and have your way. Then let him have his way. So you can be well on your way. Write about it. Then sing about it. Your original fanbase is waiting...

Sincerely,

VB

Here Mary J, sprinkle some of this on your ice cream...

Dang... This blog is starting to turn back into just my blog. Oh my two other analog authors... Ahaha!

So my cousin and I were having a mini email conversation about Ms. Mary J. Oh how we miss her so... Why do we miss her when she's still here, you ask? Who we miss is the old Mary J. The coked out/alcoholic/depressed/abused Mary J. Not exactly saying that she should revert as those are all terrible things to go thru. But come on, don't you miss the music she used to create while under those circumstances? All her albums and music that were put out during her coke-induced/black eyed haze were simply grand. 'What's The 411?' - 'My Life' - 'Share My World'... Awesome. 'Mary' - sorta awesome (This was my first road trip on my own joint. I bumped this mu'fucka all the way down the west coast. I thought I was Mary J. for a second. LOL!) 'No More Drama' - 'Love & Life' - 'The Breakthrough' - 'Growing Pains'... eh, not so awesome. I mean, I will always be a fan of Mary. She was the soundtrack to my informative years. But when I hear anything, ANYTHING that she's done within this decade, I just begin to miss her so much. And when that happens, I begin to look for her...

RIP Baatin of Slum Village

I know I'm a few days late... I heard about Baatin's passing via Facebook. Slum Village is one of the few groups that I truly am a fan of, since their 'Fantastic' days... RIP Titus Baatin Glover.

Death is strange and death is strong. Whether it happens right next to you or within our musical sub-culture of celebrities, we stay affected. Don't sleep on your loved ones and don't sleep on these beats. Music is an art and true artists are part of a movement. Remember the first time you heard any song by anyone that lifted you up. Whether it was because of the beat or the words, however you related to it, remember how you felt it and remember how you loved it and remember how you replayed it. Just because you don't know an artist personally doesn't mean they can't touch you... personally.

Amanda Blank - I Love You

Ok so thru previous posts I'm sure you can already tell that I'm a Hip Hopper by heart. But every so often artists like Amanda Blank come along and I become intrigued. Having no previous word of her, I gracefully found her via MySpace as I was looking for a Santogold song to put on my profile. Yes, Santogold. As well as the likes of M.I.A. & Spank Rock, I do delve into the hip pop/electronica world from time to time. Pick-me-up dance songs. They make you feel good & pumped, ready to take on your day. So as I was on Amanda's MySpace page sometime last year and listened to "Take It Easy" ft M.I.A. I instantly became a fan. It's rare to hear artists that can sing, rap & write and she's a female!? Say that then.

Listen to Amanda Blank's album before it comes out!

Jay-Z ft Rihanna & Kanye West - Run This Town

Hova's latest single from his upcoming album, Blueprint 3 (click here for more about the album). Now maybe it's just me but do you ever find yourself having to 'put up with' Rihanna's voice? It's just a little too melancholy/slightly nasal/frog in the throat for me. Now it would've been such a given if Jay put wifey on the record but I may have been able to listen to it with a little less cringing. Or even someone like... Cassie?! LOL! J/K! Or perhaps he put Rihanna on because he wanted that monotonous sound that she produces so well... Who knows? It's times like this that I wish I can just call a nicca up and be like, "Wassup Jay? So just peeped your latest single. Wassup with puttin' Ri-Ri up on there?! Prove me right, you were going for that Zoloft sound weren't you?" Overall I thought the song was a typical Jay-Z joint with a mainstream minx and a headliner added in - (A touch of Kanye is always nice). I will most likely download his album when it comes out because afterall, Jay-z's that Jigga...

Kanye West - Paranoid

*I dedicate this post to Jeannie*

Am I the only one that thinks it's kinda ironic and amusing that Kanye has Rihanna starring in his Paranoid video? Am I? Ahaha! Do you not see the irony? "All the time you be up in mine/Checkin' thru my cell phone, baby no/You wanna kill the vibe on another night/Here's another fight, oh here we go..." No? Especially right before Chris Brown's trial was to take place? I'm just sayin'...

Ok so the video concept is ill. Scary, dark and well... full of paranoia. And Rihanna looks absolutely sinister. Kudos to Kanye and Nabil (director: Nabil Elderkin) for doing a bangin' job on the video. Enjoy as I've enjoyed...

Cassie ft Diddy - Must Be Love

Can someone tell me why Cassie thinks she can sing? And why the industry tells her she can? And why they keep putting her in the studio to record these bunk ass songs?! Like 'Me and You', 'Official Girl' and lastly, 'Must Be Love'. I say "Must Be... 'needing a vocal coach'". I think her face is cute and she's got a lil hot bod (which is probably what's holding her a part of the music world) and she's part Filipino right? Rep! But then again she currently looks like an extra straight outta Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and she was originally discovered off of MySpace right? Yeah... 'nuff said.

Mario ft Gucci Mane & Sean Garrett - Break Up

Only one word comes to mind... Horrible.

What is this sorry excuse for a song? The beat is wack, the lyrics don't make sense, the autotune is unneccessary... And for the life of me I can't figure out what other song this is pitifully trying to replicate. The chorus is reminding me of something else that someone else already did. I Googled and a couple posts came up with it sounding like Beyonce's Diva and Lil Wayne's A Milli. No... no... that's not it, I mean the beat, yes. But the part where he says, "Why would you wanna break up..." What other song does that sound like?! Somebody, anybody, comment and let me know. It's bothering me that I can't figure it out. 'Bout ready to have me going thru every song on my iPod...

Anyways, I've never really been a Mario fan - although I admit I did like "Music For Love" from his album Go - but this song does Mario no justice. And the video makes it fall even lower on my musical scale. Gucci Mane is simply horrid to look at and Sean Garrett is... aight. Ahaha! AND in regards to my fellow author, Talkin' Shit's latest post and that link of J Smoov softcore porn for teenagers - in Mario's video, why does Mario dancing with ol' girl remind me of J Smoov's moves?! Aaaaaahahahaha! It's like Mario was on YouTube checkin' for concepts! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha! Let me know something!

P.S. Talkin' Shit - did you peep Mario's necklace hanging down towards ol' girl when they're in bed... Ahahaha!

I can't wait until I have a personal assistant. I get so frustrated with computers, typing, this copying and pasting bull shit. I know I get on my best friends nerves because I always say, "How do? Can you do for me? I don't know..." But she does it anyway. So between me and her two sister's she has her hands full and tied. Anywho, the real reason why got on this blog is to talk about this dang video. I was like, "How many times did they rehearse this?" It looks like a soft porn for teenagers. I couldn't copy and paste the embed thing or what ever that mess is called. I'll text my BFF and have her do. In the mean time, here you go!

Is Plies for real?

I want to know is this for real? I think somebody posted this as a joke just to make me and I Don't Give a Shit laugh. I'm starting to think, "Is this Plies older sister?" Plies had the pleasure to meet me in person a few years ago when I was at the "Dirty Awards" in Atlanta. I promise my 11yr. old son is taller than him. I think I'm short for a woman, well I know I'm the shortest woman in my family. Without further ado, turn your speakers up. Make sure you don't have to pee and get the sleep out of your eye. Here goes nothing.

Chico Debarge - Addiction

Yay! One of my fellow authors finally was able to post something... LOL!

Ok, so where all my Chico Debarge fans at?! He's back =) I've been a fan of Chico's since his debut album - Long Time, No See. Now it's been a minute but I'm feelin' his latest album like the first time I heard "Any Other Night" off of the Hav Plenty Soundtrack (if ya don't know what song I'm talkin' about wake the F up and click here --> Any Other Night)

This album got the reminiscent soul from Long Time, No See and the power of panty removal like Any Other Night. It's perfect background music for the latest Seattle muggy nights causing sweat-induced, ice cube foreplay enticed fornication. Try it. Bring it back to them teenage years when playing music during penetration was sexy. If moving to the rhythm of Addiction doesn't give you multiple orgasms, I apologize... I must be the only one ;)

One rapper has been on my mind alot "Gucci Mane". Yes, Gucci Mane? A friend of mine let me borrow his "Gucci Mane" mix CD. When I was given the CD I said, "I ain't listen to this bull shit, its stupid. I hear what they play for him on the radio..."

And believe me it is STUPID! but I can't get enought of it, it makes me wonder what his album is really like. Hmmmm, should I buy it? No, I think I should have one of shit talker's burn it for me. And when I say STUPID, I mean just that STUPID. The flow is stupid, it sounds stupid but I can't stop listening to it. Its stupid, the metaphors that he use's makes me laugh and that's one of my favorite things to do: watch movies, listen to music, laugh and eat. I can't help but to be mad at myself for listening to something so stupid, it makes me wanna be rapper and if you know me. Rapping and singing is NOT my thang, but I'm still talkin' shit...

Jake One ft Vitamin D, Note, Maneak B & Ish - Home

I'll be one of the first people to tell you, Seattle produces equal parts of the talented and the untalented. Hip Hop seemed to not really be Seattle's steez. Or perhaps I'm not looking hard enough. Or perhaps it can tend to be just a little too corny for me. Yeah... Um, don't get it twisted I'm not looking for Seattle artists to dabble into the mainstream or if you do, that's coo. Get it how you live. Let's just say that when it comes to popularity Seattle Hip Hop isn't part of the jock and cheerleader crowd, get what I'm saying? Ok. So a couple months back, upon daily browsing in the virtual world I come across this... And (what?!) I like it! Ahaha! Rep!

Tyrese - Take Me Away

Ok, I know this is starting to seem like this is just my blog even though I had originally mentioned that there are 3 authors... And there are 3 of us! Just my other 2 authors are ill-equipped. As in they don't have computers/laptops or phones with internet access. Go figure it would be a friend without a computer to suggest we start this blog. LOL! Anyways, I hope they'll get up on here soon enough because believe me they have just as much to say as I do. They're analog girls living in a digital world. Ahaha!

Anyways... Let's get back to the subject. Tyrese's new single, Take Me Away. Oh Tyrese... (SMH) Tyrese... My dear. My sexual chocolate future baby daddy & ex-husband, why must you disappoint me so? Is this another case of losing a singer to the acting world? Because, let's be honest, Mr. Gibson seems to be doing far better in Hollywood than on the radio. This song is horrible! With the Zapp & Roger/T-Pain synthesizer induced vocals that we all know Tyrese does not need. Is he trying to be trendy?! Even the beat is horrible! Fresh replica outta Jennifer Lopez's On The 6 album. Ty baby... Who told you this is ok? Who convinced you to record this shit? This is almost just as bad as your last album! Sweetheart, let's try and bring something back like 'Sweet Lady' or how about 'What Am I Gonna Do' because I'm sure you're asking yourself that right now...

Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi

He just made it. One year shy of what I believe to be my generation's cut-off. 1985, the start of a sub-generation under me. A sub-generation that I think is corny and sore. The women are a different breed of whore and the men, well, let's just say their dicks are about 1 inch shy of being average. If you were born between 1985 and 1989 please don't take any proper offense to this, remember... I'm not talking directly to you. So let's get back to the subject at hand: Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi. Born January 30, 1984.

Some people say hip hop is dead. I say hip hop is asleep. Only to be woken up quite a few times by an earthling who decided to pursue his dreams and move to Brooklyn via Cleveland. (You better network!) Knowing that someone is always listening and Mr. West was listening. You need that spaceship take-off, he found it. Man On The Moon indeed; destined to be a star...

You may know him better as Kid Cudi.

And in the words of my Vegas fam (who gets all the good concerts and just saw Cudi last night. But I'm not hatin'. I'm not.) - "How could you not love him?"
Exactly, which is why I had to write about him twice.

I just threw up a little... in my mouth...

Is it because they have (some) money? Is it because they know somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody? Is it because they've become so-called reality stars that people love to hate? Gimmicks and the need for attention and incredulous talent combined gets you this:

And this:

LMAO! "I'm so charged up they can't even unplug me/S.Pratt/I'm back/They don't hear me in the club this is ringtone rap"... Horrible. But at least he got it a little right - definitely ringtone rap. But then that leaves you to ponder, who actually wants Spencer Pratt rapping as their ringtone?! And Heidi as his video hoe had me dyin'! Ahahaha!

Watching these videos just took a little bit of life away from me. Y'all get an A for effort but seriously, get me outta here... No, SERIOUSLY.

Mac Wayne Commercial

It was a few months back, I was chillin' at home, channel surfin' and I happen to come across this commercial...

I could not stop laughin'! I mean, no disrespect to the disabled or E-40 but really? Come on, REALLY?! And what made me laugh even harder was E-40 at the end "And he really is blind and he go hard. Ooooo." Ahahaha! Man, watching this shit again had me almost piss my pants! Commercial advertising at it's worst! I already think it's kinda tacky when artists advertise their shit thru commercials but this one was just outright hilarious!

Kid Cudi ft Kanye West & Common - Make Her Say

My little sister thought this was Lady GaGa's Poker Face remix. With little aveil (but still much props) to Lady GaGa I said, "Um... no. This that new Kid Cudi". She said, "Who's that?". Oh dear...

Maxwell's BLACKsummers'night

I'ma go ahead and jump this blog off with a GOOD review...

Maxwell's BLACKsummers'night

Music that made my spout dribble. Now if you're a devout Maxwell fan, as I am, let me know how glad you are that he's back...

I know this CD was supposed to have dropped last year but thru this and that it didn't. When I started to hear that he was going on tour, my nipples got hard. When I found out that he would be in Seattle at the end of June (the same time I was in Cali) my nipples went soft. But although I would be missing his concert I couldn't wait for his latest CD to drop. I was on it like fleas on a dirty dog. And on midnight of July 7, 2009, I was gleefully on iTunes.

9 of some of the best tracks he has ever graced us with. I think I'm loving this CD as much as I loved Urban Hang Suite. And trust, I LOVED me some Urban Hang Suite. Maxwell has brought back his sensual funk that he knows he's good at. Reminding us of sticky sweet summers when we didn't give a damn what we did or who we were with. We just listened, enjoyed and sweat by the best of 'em. Everytime I play this CD, I get humid. Literally.

Welcome to That's That Shit

A blog that will be solely dedicated to the trash-talking and goodwill of music. We have 3 very opinionated authors* that will partake in the sharing of their views. Please feel free to check back daily to hear our latest thoughts about the mass array of musical talent, or lack thereof, that's circulating our ears as we write.

Don't forget to comment! Your comments can be as open and sinful as you please.

And any suggestions of bad music to review are also welcome as that's exactly what we need - Another mindless excuse of somebody thinking that what they just created has any right to be called music. Suggestions of good music are welcome too... But of course, we'll be the judge of that. Send suggestions to: thatsthatsh.t@gmail.com

From orgasmic sounds to shit that makes your ears bleed - we're listening and talkin' about it 2-4.

*Authors is just the word that I chose to use. We are in no way professional authors or critics and we are in no way affiliated with professional authors or critics. We are simply 3 music-lovers that would like to share our opinions of music with you.
